If you blog hop you know that Cottage Charm takes on as many definitions as there are bloggers. There are the whites only (not a racial comment) the coastal, the vintage, the farmhouse, the industrial junkers, the shabby chic, the french country … the list goes on and on.
I prefer to think of Cottage Charm as a way of life more than a way of decorating.
It’s taking pride in your home, no matter how big or small, no matter if you own or rent.
It’s creating a sacred spot with some seeds, dirt, sunshine, water and hope; no matter if it’s a farm or windowsill.
It’s knowing it matters to keep in touch with family and friends, no matter how busy we get. It’s offering friendship and a cup of tea to the old woman next door.
It’s being aware that nothing is worth more than time spent here and now making a perfect memory.
It’s soaking away the aches and pains of living in a hot bath. It’s keeping a journal even though you have a blog because some things aren’t meant to be shared with the world. It’s resting your weary head on your pillow at night and not falling asleep until you whisper, “Thank You.”
Cottage Charm is knowing “It’s the Simple Things”
It’s that time of year! My sweet friend, Kim, from The Twice Remembered Cottage is holding her annual event, The Cottage Charm Give Away! It’s a multi-blog, month long event which began Saturday, May 1st. Each participating blogger hosts a giveaway of item(s) they feel exhibit “Cottage Charm”. Anyone can join at any point in May before the 29th. On May 29th, all participating bloggers will announce their winners and post it to their blogs. An ongoing list of ALL the giveaways and participating bloggers is maintained at Twice Remembered during the entire month of May. The list grows and grows the whole month of May as bloggers add their Cottage Charm Giveaway to their blogs.
You do not have to host a give-away to enter to win a give-away.
You do not have to have a blog to enter the give-away. Just be sure to include your email address while commenting so you can be reached if you win. Your email address will not appear on the comment.
