Book Club: Second Read

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! — When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.” ~ Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Sense and Sensibility

Jane Austen’s popularity was evidenced by the response to my last giveaway. So when I was treasure hunting last week and came upon four new, paperback Sense and Sensibility novels for a mere 25 cents each, I purchased them for The Fairfield House Book Club. Amazon has these listed for $8.99 each.

If you would like to read Austen’s words for the first or hundredth time please join in. If you’d like to win a copy of the book, leave a comment below. I’ll chose 4 winners randomly on Friday, September 28 — two from the blog and two from the Fairfield House Facebook page. In a month we will discuss the book online.

My daughter and I are now on a Jane Austen kick! We watched Pride and Prejudice and promptly went and started reading the book to compare. Sadly, we don’t have Sense and Sensibility…one of the “famous” six.

Consequently, we would love to win!

Sense and Sensibility was Jane Austen’s first published work (under the pseudonym “A Lady”)in 1811.
